Santa Perpètua de Mogoda is located west of Riera de Caldes, within River Besos basin. The city bounds with Sabadell, Palau-solità i Plegamans, Mollet del Vallès, La Llagosta, Montcada i Reixac, Barberà del Valàs and Vallès Oriental. In the last decade, its population has grown a 33.4% reaching a total of 24,325 inhabitants. It occupies an area of 15.83 square kilometres. Its territory is divided in different areas including Santa Perpètua, la Florida, la Mogoda and Santiga.
Taking into account the area’s dimensions the city has a great and diverse productive system thanks to 11 Business & Industry Estates and a good implementation of business and services close to its urban centre. Furthermore, it has excellent road connections with other cities (AP-7, C-33, C-15, etc.) and an established industry tradition.
Currently, there are 1,270 businesses in the area that employ approximately 16,000 people. It is in the Business & Industry Estates where the majority of these people are working. Thus, Can Bernades-Subira Estate is the biggest one hosting 108 businesses, followed by Santiga Estate with 102, Minetes Estate with 87, and Can Vinyals with 77. La Creueta’s borough also has a large business activity. The 12.4% business activity remaining is distributed between other Estates. Altogether there are 40 different business activities performed, most importantly wholesaling, shipping (CIM Valles) and metal production.
The above mentioned proves the heterogeneity of Santa Perpetua’s production network: on one hand, territorial distribution based upon a different business activity (commercial, services, industry) and on the other, a diversity of businesses activities.
Hence, different business types and different customs within the territory add value to it and guarantee a solid action against new challenges and opportunities.
